Why PPI matters

A pixel count becomes a physical print size only after a PPI value is chosen. PrintPrepTools uses the exact relationship of 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters and keeps image PPI separate from printer hardware dot density.

inches = pixels ÷ PPI centimeters = inches × 2.54 required pixels = print inches × target PPI
